LET US WITH A GLADSOME MIND(E JEKA F INU DIDUN YIN OLUWA OLORE) BY JOHN MILTON(1608-1674)

 

*John Milton was born in London Dec 9, 1608 and died there in Nov 8,1674   

*Let us with gladsome mind (E jek’a f’inu didun) was written in 1623 by John Milton, the song is filled with great inspirational statement.The lyrics gives full details of God’s greatness. 

 

*Milton who was 15 year-old then,  got his inspiration from Psalm 136 to write the poem.

*Milton was a famous poet—author of the epic poem, “Paradise Lost.”

*He hadn’t intended to write a hymn, but his poem was set to music by a   

  church organist, John Bernard Wilkes, long after Milton’s death, using a tune

  written originally by John Antes, a Moravian composer.
